Last week marked the first anniversary of the tragic Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh in which over 1,300 people were killed. Numerous high street retailers ranging from Primark to H&M came under fire after the disaster which occurred on 24 April 2013, and were accused of failing to adequately check their supply chains and eliminate the use of slave labour. A year later only $17m of the $40m compensation fund target has been met.
